RemarquesThis thing was south of the high cloud bank as it went behind the clouds for a split second.... the clouds were high and at least 100 miles south. As I was at work on the Space Center I keep looking around as the sun came up and saw a second fireball from east to west ( slightly different trajectory ) about 10 minutes later. The second one was much faster, like 40 mi/sec fast. I have been doing astronomy for 40 years and seen a lot of meteors, space debris, airplanes, and other assorted things in the sky. This was the first time I saw a fireball in a sky as bright as that morning. The second one was just a really bright, really fast meteor. The first one was a 2 or 3 second fireball that had to exit the atmosphere.
