Remarques | It was a cloudy day so didn’t see anything but heard it. I was sat in my sun lounge reading when there was an almighty boom, I only heard the one, and it shook the roof. I shot out into the garden and my daughter came out from their extension. She said their roof shook also from the noise. As we stood in the garden looking up you could just hear this prolonged, low rumbling going on for what seemed a long time. It just seemed to keep going and going. My daughter said was it thunder and I said no, it’s lasting Too long. I then went indoors and onto Facebook to see if anyone else had heard and knew what it was, within seconds I’d had over 300 answers from afar as Dorchester, Exeter, Bridport, Taunton, Bournemouth. What was very odd was that even though many people had heard it, quite a few close to where we live hadn’t but they seemed to live in the lower lying areas of Weymouth, maybe that made the difference, we live up on a hill. P.s. sorry about the visual chart, had to sort of make that up, but for reference the rumbling sound seemed to be coming from the south west of us, though as we have the ridgeway behind us that might have deflected the noise? |
